14 bolt on Ebay

Yeh its got the bolts around the pinion, and the bottom aint shaped like my sf. Looks like a ff to me.

Where are you located? I will probably have one available in a couple of months (IF I can ever get started on the project).

I'm located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The junk yards here had nothing last time I checked. I'd be interested in a good deal on a 14FF with 4.56. Ideally the perches would be ready for my K5 spring spacing as well, but I can probably deal with that if I have to - just have to haul it to my friend's place for welding.

Would the spring perches be correct on this E-bay one as is? Hmm, even if they're right, I'd probably want to rotate them a little to get the pinion up.

(Hey, where are the smilies in this new software? I need the thinking guy one.)

I will check the one I have to see if it has 4.56's. The Ebay one appears to have the right perches.

I take it yours didn't have 4.56? The one on E-bay looks good, but I'd actually prefer not to have the locker since I drive on the streets in winter sometimes. Also, some applications had 6-lugs, didn't they? That'd bolt up to my rims.

Thanks for the leads.

there are 14SF that are 6 lug not sure on the years 88+ I think.

I don't believe any of the full floaters came with 6 lug, only some of the semi floaters.

Oh, good to know, thanks. What do most guys do, just get new wheels, or convert to 6-lug? I'd almost have to convert since I don't plan on changing my front any time soon. Otherwise I'd need two spares...

I'll search and see what I can find out, I'm sure it's been discussed hundreds of times.

You would want to convert the front to 8 lug. They dont make a 6 lug ff and if you do some looking you can get the 8 lug stuff for your 10 bolt for under $100.

You can use 8 to 6 lug adaptors, or get 8 lug rims.

Thanks for the help guys. Do you have a source for the 8 to 6 adapters?

The price does seem a tad high compared to what I expected, but the delivery is basically free. Getting to I-80 is no sweat. I am a little torn about the detroit though. It's good for wheeling, but might be scary on the road in winter.

I'm not in a super hurry right now anyway, so it wouldn't hurt any to wait around for the sweetest deal. I've got a list of projects to do first, starting with insulating my garage so I don't freeze my butt off doing the rest of the stuff on the list!
