14 Bolt ooopsss

that there is exactly why thay call them mud trucks . not water trucks. you need to avoid big water holes like the ones you were playing in. and check the diff vent hose .

wow thats scary:eek1: . pull the cover on your rear end and bam, the blob rolls out and eats you:rolleyes:

mine looked exactly like that after i played in the river one weekend. kinda looked like pudding but smelled like sh*t. it took me a while to clean it out too. wish i had taken a pic

no i had the same thing happen to mine. and i didnt discover it till 6 months later. didnt do any damage though. just used a case of brake clean and resealled and filled er up again. good to go. oh btw did you check your front rear too?

yes i did check the front end it was ok nothing at all, It looks like the driver rear hub seal was the culprit I found mud in the driver side axle tube but not pass. the vent tube is ok.

I used-
5 rolls of paper towels
6 cans of carb clean
the water hose
and my buddys parts cleaner to clean the diff and rear cover.

What's worse...finding that after you wheeled or finding ancient gear lube that's separated into turpentine and sludge under a new-to-you-used vehicle?
:doah: i;m afeerd to look at mine.:eek1: i think the last time i checked was  1988!!!:yikes: TOO late,if i change it now something will blow.

Friend of mine bought a '76 Chevy a few years back for the D44 and 14FF. The rest was pretty much rust and bondo. When he opened up the rear end there was a semi-solid play-dough like goo in the bottom with a channel/groove where the ring gear had eaten through it on his drive home and on top of all of it was a thing, brown, semi-transparent fluid that smelled nasty and stained the concrete.
30 year old 75w90?

Well i finally got it all back together, wow what a great big pain in the arse. I hope to never do that again. But if it does I know how to clean it DOOOOOOOeee
