14 bolt rear end

They made 6 and 8 lug semi floaters and only full floaters are 8 lug...

Don't miss his point - because it's eight lug, does not make it a full float.

The SF version looks like a typical Blazer rear axle. It can have 6 or 8 lugs.

The FF is always 8 lug, has a hub with bolts that hold the axle in and it sticks out from the center.

Just to throw another wrench in things there is a 10.5" 14ff that you can find in the 70's-90's chevy's as well as an 11.5" 14ff that comes behind the new trucks with the duramax...

10.5" 14ff...

11.5" 14ff look pretty much identical from the outside...

14SF axles look like this...

^^^ That's an 8 lug 14SF but there are 6 lug versions as well...

Just sit back and read this article...

Anyone have the stats/info/years on which ones bolt into the Blazer vs. ones that need the perches moved?

any 3/4 ton 14 bolt 73-87 is a direct bolt in any thing else will need spring perches moved, and 2wd ones in that year range will need the shock mounts moved

3/4 ton 70's and 80's bolt right in . 1 ton 70's and 80's need perches moved . This is with the older body style stuff 73 to 87 everything ( 91 on K5's/Subs ) .

Newer body style I think you need to move perches , but I never measured my Sub and k2500 .

Just so you know, there's 3 different versions of the 14FF. There's the Cab and Chassis version which is 63" from wheel flange to wheel flange(you don't want this one), there's the pickup version which is 67.5"(IIRC) from wheel flange to wheel flange. There's also the fullsize van 14FF which is 70" from wheel flange to wheel flange. You can swap the van 14FF into a pickup or K5 but you'd have to remove the stock spring perches and weld on new ones in the correct location in order for it to fit.

The cab and chassis: Is that the setup for a dually?

It is a dually axle but its still too narrow to be put under a regular dually pickup. There's someone on here that has a C30 with the C&C 14FF under it and it tucks both dually tires without the need for the bulbous dually fenders.
