14 Bolt Spindle Nut Torque

If you remove that hub again, use a pointed punch and put a couple of dozen dimples around the surface the seal sits against. The dimples will help to make the surface "grip" the seal, people do the same with bearing races that no longer have a perfect press fit. Also, put Loctite on the seal instead of RTV.

It definately needs more grip i could see it spinning because the spindle was grabbing it more, as i rotated while torqing, i shouldve pulled off right away, but i was ready to get tires on so i could start getting other things done.

Bout ready to get back to axle though and burn perches in. Getting closer to using it for sure i need to update my build again.

wesharden, say this works on splined yokes aswell. Does it come off easily when you have to rebuild or work on stuff?

yes with a ss wire tooth brush, and a little brake clean. If a solvent tank is around even better.

I use that stuff on all my press in seals. Lately I have tried it on the timing cover/oil pan gasket grove. No results yet engine is waiting for a chassis

This makes sense ive see. This stuff on other items now that i think of it.

My np208 when it came back from tom woods has red stuff around new tailhousing seal.

Thanks for the tip

I found a picture of those hubs. These are what came on 2004 from junkyard, you can tell the one on right had been replaced, and if you zoom in can see that lip is somewhat beveled.

I think I'd be trying to source a matching hub to ordinal. Are the lug studs even the same size ?

I changed the studs before i put back on. Believe it or not they are same gm part number and stamped gm. But i think it was made bad from factory or somethin

Im trying to think if i can press and hammer all bearings out and put in another one, for the likes of me i thought there is one bearing you have to mess up when removing.

I dont wanna risk it not holding and be stranded somewhere.
