I am considering installing a mini spool in my FF 14 bolt but was wondering about axle or other component breakage. It does not get driven on the street very much but it does get driven on the street. Should I even be concerned with this? I am running 38in TSL's and 4.56 gears. I have loved my mini spools in the past and want to continue the obsession.

I ran mine on the street and trails for a year with no problems other than the strain the street miles put on the rest of the truck.

I went with the Ouverson Mini in mine.

i did a lincoln locker in mine and have no problems except cops look at me funny when i go around a corner a 5mph and my tires squeal.

hate that. I got pulled over once beacuse of that. He pulled me over for speeding but he didn't put the lights on until I left a light, went around the corner and chirped them pretty good doing so. Worst thing was my accelerator pump on my Holley was SHOT so it would bog really bad off the line. BOG... POWER... TIRE SQUEAL. Worst timing I tell you.

No probs with the lincoln locker? Did you weld the spiders together or just fill in the teeth?

the lincoln locker works just like i want it to. i made the spider ball, welded the 6 spider gears all together to make one big ball. quite heavy but it matches my heavy right foot.

I have a similar driving style. If you don't make it, go faster!

I see you are from Fairfield, I grew up in Vallejo. :D
