14b ff or d70?

wow... screw that lol. i was thinkin maybe 2-3" wider. nvm, im just going to go for the d60/14bff combo

if your not going to go with H1's  i would go 14 bolt...also i would try to find someone who wants to run H1's to swap your d60 hubs straight up...both of you may save some money :D

id actually consider swapping hubs with you, ive got srw. but i duno for sure yet, but pm me if your interested.

chris, are you sure bout the shaft sizes? i thought the 70 shafts were stronger? are all 70 shafts the same? ive got a d70hd with the 4" axles tubes and havent pulled the shafts to check yet.

Didn't see an answer to your questions about the cost of hubs.

I believe it will cost you around $300-$400 to buy new SRW hubs for the front D60 to replace the DRW hubs. You might be able to find some used ones on eBay or some off-road board, but typically only because that person is swapping back and forth. I would very much doubt you could find these parts in a junkyard because any front D60's are fairly rare to find and if you do find them the place probably won't let you steal the hubs off of it. Also as mentioned, you might be able to find somebody who wants to swap their SRW hubs for the DRW hubs.

In general a DRW version D60 is worth slight less than a SRW version because a majority of people want the SRW version....which is your case because most likely you are looking at spending an additional $300 for the hubs.

it's 360 shipped for new SRW hubs...
Ebay has used DRW's all the time for about 150 shipped (for a set).

Why not run H1's?
You can get them for less than 50 each! and their beadlocked...?

He said he's got new tires/wheels (15" wheel)

so...???

if there new, then he can sell them for more, and get some military 37's or 52's or 57's :)

military tires are either for 16" or 20"...H1's are 16.5's so those military tires wont work on them...

so h1's are 16.5's??

they come in anything else or whenever the 16.5 tire becomes obsolete the h1's will too???

h1's ONLY come in 16.5. you can get pretty much any popular tire/size for it. of course there are always exceptions, but you cant get every tire/size for 15's any more either. 16.5's will probably never go obsolete, there were so many trucks that came stock with 16.5's. plus there is a big offroad market for 16.5's

if u wana run the military tires, get cheep steel 16x7 factory rims and be done with it, anything wider and it will look silly as most of military tires are skinny for how tall they are (usually less than 14" wide)

There's been big rumors that there's a big trend towards parting from the 16.5 wheel size...but until they start making TSLs or Boggers in the 17 & 18" wheel size, I won't believe it.

Back on topic:::I'd go with a 14 FF. Parts availability for a D70 is crap compared to the aftermarket support of the 14 bolt...plus D70 parts such as the Detroit are more mula. If I wouldn't have bought my axles built, I woulda gone with a 14 bolt.

IROK's, LTB's, Boggers and TSL's are all available with 17" wheels.

The selection is more limited, but the trend is towards big wheels (which it should be for bigger tires).

lol EDIT::I meant in a 42"+ size

42" tires or larger:

IROK's are available in 17 and 20"

LTB's have a bunch of sizes available in 17's including 40's and 47's

54" Boggers are available in 20" and 17" wheels, 37"x13" Boggers are also available in 17" wheels

42" TSL's are available with a 17" wheel, 44's don't appear to be.

In any case, Interco offers a fair amount of tires with the 17" wheels (and no 18" wheel options).

15", 16" and 16.5" still have more options.

thats what sucks.. id be all for h1's, but i just spend $1100 on boggers for 15" wheels. theres no way i would get anywhere close to that much to sell them now. and plus, i like them. if i could do it over again, i would have started with h1's..
