Who was it on here that did this swap and why? I remember reading it but that's about it.

I thought it was only to get a wider WMS-WMS to run H1's.

As far as I can tell that is the only reason.

Emmetology101 did it back in the day. Never found the actual thread but found some references too it.

Someone has done it since I have been here, I just can't remember who.

I haven't seen mention of it for a long time. I'm curious as to what disc conversion setup was used in conjuction with the swap. I think I know what Emmetology used. Not 100% though.

Dremu seems to know alot about this type of swap and it might have even been him who did it.

I'll have to PM Dremu... Or yell.

DREMU!!!!

I purchased your D70HD disc setup minus the rotors. I haven't got it mounted yet, still need calipers. 14BFF SRW Hubs make the width 77.5" to match a 77" DRW D60F.

Sorry, guys, work's been stupid so I was out cold when this started ;)

I've not done it personally, but I thought the D70 and 14BFF hubs were interchangeable.

The only tricky part is the spacing from the hub to the brake flange, so you may have to replace the flange, or use the bent brackets to align the caliper with the rotor, if that makes sense.

If I have a drw d70hd and a srw 14bff both with disc conversions, can I swap outers? Sorry to jump in here but I don't have both axles in front of me.

Did this a few months back. Used your kit without the rotors. Flanges get welded around 4" closer to the spindle. I put everything together on the axle where I wanted it, tack flanges, removed hubs, finished welding flanges.

Did it to match drw d60, worked out pretty good.

I brought a 70hd with 14bolt hubs on from a guy in indy i think. from what he told me you made the disc brake stuff on it

Why would you want to do this? The reason GM kept the rear narrower is for better steering.I like having the rear narrower.Especially on a trail rig.It lets the rear follow the front around rocks and such. With the rear the same width it tends to track inside.

the reason for doing this is to run unmoddified H1 wheels, wich have about 7" of backspacing. with this setup it would be the same width as a stock rear with a 3.5" backspaced wheel. i think :D. if im wrong somebody please steer me straight.

and muddybuddy has done this. check out his ride (3rd one down)

That would be correct.

Brady- It would be best to have the rear narrower than the front. This setup is the easiest and cheapest solution for running H1's. I don't want to run 4" wheel spacers to make up the difference of the front width.

so with the rear wider it won't track inside the front? Or it would track inside the front more?

drw60/70 14bhubs

1st pic is the best one I have on how the widths turned out. 2nd one I threw in for the heck of it. I dont know how it tracks, will have to test it out.
