14bff lincoln locked? can i add a locker?

i just bought a 14bff that has been welded into a "locker" could i take out the carrier and put in a locker like a detroit? or is it now locked forever?

If the spider gears are not welded to the carrier you should be able to just pull out the welded ball and put a detroit in it's place. If it is welded to the carrier I would imagine you would need to find a new one. The only way to tell is to pull the carrier out and split it apart.
