My 14 ff is almost done. Just need to finish the brake lines/hoses and replace the perches. Need some advice on the perches though. When I installed the axle in my old blazer, I was in a rush and used some el cheapo spring perches. Guy didn't do too great of a job welding them on, plus they are the un-boxed kind. I have a set of DIY4x spring perches to replace them.

I'd like to install them now, any ideas on how to set them up without the axle in the truck? Most likely the setup will be a 465/208 with a 4 inch shackle flip on 52's with a 6 inch shackle (nets 5 inches of lift). I was thinking of leveling the pinion and then have them welded up. I can shim it from there. Ideas?

Heres the completed pics for the (pic) whores. I installed a DIY dif cover, gaurdsman, disc conversion, replaced all the seals and checked all of the bearings. Got some braided stainless hoses for the brakes. 12 inchers from the calipers to the hard lines and then 36 incher to the frame. (will be way long I know, but better safe than sorry.

I would start by measuring the angle of the existing perches then weld the new ones on about 6* different with the pinion pointing more upward. This should get you reatively close then you could shim from there. If you're going to use a CV rear shaft just remember that the pinion needs to point about 2* down from inline with the driveshaft. That's my $.02

Anybody know what the spring spacing is on 1/2t trucks? Exact measurements?

It's hard to get the pinion angle just right outside the truck. You can measure the existing angle and adjust but still not as safe as waiting till its in place.

Looking sweet!

I've got a matching one for the front, hope I can find the cash to send it back to Kert and have a hydro mount added.

Not bashing Kert's products AT ALL! but make sure there is enough gusseting. I had him whip out a hydro mount that I needed in a big hurry and built to my specs and it's got a slight bend in it. If you're getting a hydro mount that's welded to the cover instead of a piece beside the cover, totally disregard this statement, Jose is getting the best of me tonight. :haha:

It'd be the mount that Kert sells that goes with the razorback D60 cover.

It's really bad when you can't afford to send him a diff cover to have a tab welded on it.....:doah:

Ya know, I feel a little bad making this offer publicly, but if you want it...I'll pick up the tab. You've given me enough awesome advice, not to mention the TH400/241 adapter that I really do owe it to you.

Pay the shipping and I'll pick up the tabs and welding. Yes, I'll still love you in the morning.

Also, Black Medallion in a Tequila Sunrise gets me ****ED!

Call Kert tomorrow and tell him what's up. Terry's guy still owes me $280 for my 350 so he can just take it outta Terry's wallet. :haha:

:haha: :haha: :haha:

Downhill fast it is....

Still waiting for pics of your hootus and a dana 60 beater....
