14ff with 4.09 gears???

that cool.. they do not make that gear any longer.. I tryed to buy a set for my 14 ff any was told that they do not make them ...they only make a 4.10.. The diffrenace from 4.09 to 4.10 would not make that much of a diffrence.. you said that you got them out of a van? I will hit the scrap yards looking for 14 ff onder vans now .. Thanks for the info..

It must be a van thing to have those gears. Not like .01 is gonna make a difference. Look for 1980 and older G30/3500 vans. They should have 14ff in them, maybe a Dana 70....

does that mean the carrier is different? will regular 14bolt stuff work in this axle?

i have a 14bff that has 4.09 gears. it is the normal srw pickup version, but the gears may have been changed at some point. i bought the axle with a detroit in it that was advertised as a gov-lock, so i know the p/o didn't know everything about it. edit: kind of interesting GM saw fit to make 4.09, 4.10, and 4.11 gears for the same friggin axle.

The carriers should be the same. I wish mine had a Detroit, but the Govlock will be fine for what I'm doing....
