The 14 bolt I picked up has a yoke with a little chunk missing. I can't tell if it's damage or was just cast that way.

Give me your opinion, should I toss it?

looks damaged to me like someone running it with bad universal joint...

hmm I dont think I would use it. You can get a new one, strap style too for $79 from high angle driveline

EDIT: I meant to say u-bolt style lol

Strap style brings the suck. it doesn't look good to me James...I agree it appears someone fragged a U-joint cup and it beat the yoke up a bit.

NWF has the 1350 or 1410 yokes modified to run the u-bolt style and they're pretty reasonable. I run U-bolt style 1410's front and rear.

whoops I knew that didnt sound right. yea I also got a pair of 1410 u-bolt styles

Dammaged but not bad. I would personally fix it with a tack and grinder. the part that chunked it was the inside of the joint after loosing the cap around it. But that is just me. you will probably never break that part on the trail but I allways carry extra straps with me.

Thanks gents, I may as well get a u-bolt style from NWF.

Having no prior 14 bolt yoke knowledge what's the procedure for swapping that out, any crush sleeve or other problems to consider?

Nope, all I do usually is just mark the pinion to nut with a center punch so you know the nut is back where you started. There is a rotating torque in inch pounds if you want to be technical. Are you going with a bigger sized joint?

Probably stick with the 1350. If I went 1410 I would end up having my driveshaft end modified to match.

We all can't be 1 ton elitists Brigham. :D

We'll see what happens this year with the new big rubber, might have to tone it down a little to keep the drivetrain together......

or maybe not:whistle:

On a side note, did you get a chance to call my buddy 'bout your TBI problem?

No I have not called him yet. The code hasn't come back up for a few weeks now, so until it causes some kind of real problem I'm just going to stick with black duct tape.

Hey just saw this post figured I'd let you know I've got a u-bolt style yoke sitting on the shelf with your name on it for $74. :D

Give me a call and I can get it on the way for you,

Thanks fellas, I appreciate all the help. Max I'll probably be ordering one around June 15th if that's ok by you. I Need to let the budget roll over into next month so I can keep some of my married dignity. :D
