Because then your tires stick way out there. I had to do some minor grinding on the 14b disc calipers aswell, very minimal though.

Run a 16" wheel and leave the brakes alone.

i already have 18.5/44/15 tires, and 1 ton axles...still not sure

i have run the same 15" 2.75 wheels on a d44 and d60 . no grinding at all. the only thing , it was really wide. on our trails i was always rubbing. i'm going to grind and get some with more backspacing.

I'm running 2.5 BS no grinding I have had these tire/wheel combo on my D60 for 3 years and no problems I would say do it. BTW I have 42's
