15\" rims and ford dana 60 brakes?

Do 8 lug 15" rims fit on ford brakes on a dana 60 with minor grinding, like the Gms or no? I have heard Fords have better front brakes because they are 2 piston.

bump, I am curious too, I know Dan (Krazie87K5) had the Furd Dual Piston calipers...maybe he can inform us on any clearance issues...

the outer dia has to be under 14-1/2'inch to fit an alum rim so that would be 7-1/4" from center, I want to here this out too....

im curious as well. and not to hijack a post or anything but do the ford calipers fit on GM backing plates?

The ford dual piston calipers dont have enough material to grind to fit 15s. Me and a local tried and we saw that it wouldnt work so he got 16s and they fit

I'm putting a set of ford calipers on my rear 14FF axle with e-brakes on them. I have 15"inch 6-lug rims going on over them, I turned the rotors down and made a set of brackets to keep the caliper inside the rim...

Maybe that's the ultimate way to make an 8 lug 10 bolt or D44 front that will fit 15s....turn down the rotor and use 1/2 ton backing plates.

Re: 15\" rims and ford dana 60 brakes?

You'd have to use 1/2 ton calipers too, since the D60 calipers come real close to the part of the hub that the studs come out of. If you use the smaller calipers then you lose one of the big benefits of the 1 ton axles.

You need to search over on PBB.
From what I remember reading there were a few years where the dual piston calipers would fit but they are really hard to find.

No they will not work on chevy knuckles.
