The White Truck, my ‘03 LB7 Tow Rig

Pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to the fuel injector control module. Plenty of cranking fuel pressure, and I was tracking down an intermittent short that I thought might be downstream of the small injector driver plug for cylinders 3, 5, 8, and 2 when the fuse stopped popping.

Now I have consistent power to the module, but the truck still won’t start.

With some internet guidance, I found where the main engine ground (big strap on the back of the driver side head) had made incidental contact to the low pressure fuel lines.

The marks aren't just witness marks from rubbing, but you can see where they are tiny little arc strikes. I guess if that happens for 23 years and 170,000 miles, it'll smoke the FICM. Moved the strap. Tried to fire. No joy.

Ordered a rebuilt FICM. I think I'll use the lead time to install the downpipe, up-pipes, and driver side manifold. Can't bring my mind to switch back to the Charger while this sits dead.

Went to the warehouse and got my box of Duramax fun parts. I’ve had these for a little while, and I’ve just been waiting for the opportunity to put them in.

I actually bought that BD manifold as a Father’s Day gift for my dad over a decade ago. He just never installed it.
