you can get brackets to bolt on calipers from a gm 10 bolt axle, then you don't have to grind $hit. good chance you still have a pair of those calipers floating around somewhere, right?

I bought 15" 15x10's 2.5" backspacing. They fit w/ no grinding but my skinny 37x12.5 Irok's stick out too far,... looks like sh!t.

I'm well aware of the kit, and have seen them in person on a few rigs already. FWP was running 3/4 ton brakes on his D60 as far back as 2003...

That being said I still prefer the larger D60 brakes. Better brakes is never a bad thing, and i can lock up my 40's no problem with the larger front brakes and rear disc's.

ok let me ask this question (the pirate thread was vey confusing) whats the most backspacing can you run to clear a set of ford dual pistion calipers???

I don't think you can get 15's over the Ford dual piston calipers.

it was saying on there the ford calipers have more clearance than the chevy...i dont know how...it even said some with 3.5 inches of backspacing...i just didnt know if anyone had attempted on here...

You can fit 15's on the Ford 60 dual pistons. Just alot of grinding to fit 3.5" backspaced wheels, had them on my M715 and now the YJ.

A friend has 15" wheels w/ 2.75" BS on his '78 Ford D60 and it required no grinding of the calipers. The 15", 2.75" BS wheels (same brand as his) required about 30 seconds of "clean-up" grinding to fit on my stock Chevy D60 front axle.

wasn't trying to discredit you one bit brother, just mentioning the possible options, i think that is the purpose of this site. i personally haven't tried either method, just spreading some of the knowledge.

whenever i hear about grinding the brake parts, it just makes me wonder how much it weakens them.
ive done it. once you hold that caliper in your hand, you realize it is like a drop in the bucket. maybe 5% weaker. these things are massive
