15"rims on a dana60?? is it possible??

i run 15" wheels with 2.75" BS and didnt grind anything. They are just plain white wagon wheels. you can see the pics in my avatar and signature. The calipers are the ones off of a DRW D60. although i think those and the SRW ones are the same. You can go to the online auto store and compare part numbers to see if they are.

As was mentioned the grinding does not take off much material when compared to what is left. A couple people have even gotten "preground" calipers from the parts store. So its not enough that the rebuilder won't use them.

My question is, with all the new tires coming out in bigger rims sizes why would you still want to run 15s? (No offense, just wondering)

the main reason would be if you bought some swampers for your 1/2 ton and then upgraded to 1 ton axles, you can get new rims and use your existing 15" swampers. Thats what i did.

dont mean to hijack but i have a quick question. how much grinding, if any, is nessisary on 3/4 ton front/rear to clear 15's?

2.5 for no issues, and the more you go, the more hassle you have. ive ground a d60 caliper for a 4" bs rim. it wasnt that much material, but it was a lot of grinding. that was before i bought my 9" grinder though, one of the best tools i have bought so far.

very minimal

minimal. half hour per side in the front at most, should clear the back without issues

when i put my 3.5bs 15'' wheels on my 3/4t axels, i just cleaned the front calipers up smooth, mainly ground off the wide "flashing" in middle of caliper, it actually made the calipers look better also...14bsf rear, no problems!
