15\" steelies?

Just to reiterate the question, one can obtain black steelies that are 8 lug 15" right? If so, what tire shop will know WTF I'm talking about when I go in there to buy them, or can I get these things online somewhere?

Just picked up my 14bff with wheels and heavy 3/4 ton springs. Gotta go open it up and see what gear ratio it is and hopefully find an open carrier with 4:56's.

Check out my new post in this forum, mine are chrome, but you can get them in black, mine came from 4WPW /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 15\" steelies?

When you ask the salesman, speak loudly so somebody that knows about them can over-hear you. I can get them regularly when requested. Discount Tire has them also. You just have to ask the sales person to "humor me" and type 15x8 8-6.5 (or 15x10 which ever) and search please. Then the I told you so can come out. If I know more than a sales person I always ask for a discount.

Re: 15\" steelies?

I have them, I am on my 2nd set, and I got them from 4WPW.

I run them on a 60/14 combo but previously did it on a front 10 bolt. Be prepared to grind the [darn] out of your calipers and backing plates, especially if you want to run lots of backspacing like I do.

4WPW has them in 4.25" and 2.5" in stock and ready for your installing enjoyment.

So, the bigger the backspacing, the better then?

Depends. I wanted my tires tucked in as far as possible for legality and fender clearance reasons, so for me, yes.

You'll have to grind more to use more backspacing. LOTS MORE!!

Re: 15\" steelies?

Are you just talking about grinding on the front caliper? I didn't think you need to grind anything on the back drum to put 15's on a 14bff?

Also, is 4" of backspacing a lot, normal, or little? Just trying to get an idea of what I'll need.
