Wow, badass ride…..but 150+?

Last week, Cadillac announced pricing for the new performance-oriented 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, with of a base MSRP $149,990 including the destination freight charge. The brute of an SUV will be propelled by the 682 horsepower supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine backed by the GM 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time active all-wheel drive system. The Escalade-V will also be equipped with launch control, which will move the full-size SUV from a dead stop to sixty miles per hour in a mind-bending 4.4 seconds, and through the quarter-mile in just 12.74 tics. That’s damn impressive for something that has the aerodynamic qualities of a Carrier air conditioner.

Thats a cool ride but how does anyone possibly justify the cost?

Surprised to see anything like this from GM, I thought they were going all electric in a couple years.

I think its funny that the Cadillac's cost big money new, but once they are old and mostly used up they are worth way less than comparable vehicles. The extra electronics have always been sketchy on the used ones. Buy here Pay here lots are always full of Escalades.

I’d say somebody slipped something past ol’ Mary without her knowing about it.

Or it’s a desperate grab for money prior to going all electric.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a little of both.

Knowing GM’S build quality lately it will probably cough up a couple lifters before it hits 10k miles.

and the shift tuning will probably suck for anything but WOT.

Think of the shop you can build for $150k, then compare depreciation.
