17" DOT approved Hutchinson double bead lock wheels

I am not at all concerned about him wasting bandwidth, so I do not know what your point is?

I thought this sight was suppose to be a "nice" sight???

For the love of god this thread is a **** show. No one here is spending $5000 on wheels period. And no one with a super duty or newer chevy is gonna buy into this because theyre a different lug pattern...

Just buy some damn stauns and be done with it.

Is the inspection in Germany is it for a military installation? If not does the "DOT" thing even matter there? :dunno: Fairly certain thats a USA only deal.

And you keep bringing up weight.. what is the actual difference between aluminum and steel beadlocks? Maybe 15lb a corner? :dunno: I mean we are running 37-40 inch tires that weigh between 80-105 lbs.. kinda splitting hairs isnt it?

DOT is a Us only thing but I think his point was that if something is stamped for us another country won't really bat an eye at it.

I just wonder why bother building a domestic truck to bring to Germany. They have a plethora of sweet **** over there like mogs , gwagens , land rovers and land cruisers all in Turbo diesel flavors...

In reference to your comment regarding driving it in Germany, you better talk to some people before you go shipping this over there. My wife's family lives there and I remember them saying I would never be able to drive my m1009 legally on the streets there, and it only has a 4"lift and 37s

there is ways, I´m german and been living there for a long time. But you need everything approved. It just costs big bucks to get everything approved. But if something has a DOT aproval it is easier than if it doesn´t have anything. I already talked to the TÜV and know what I need to do for driving it there. 4" with 37" tires is no problem, IF the wheels/tires are fully covered by the fender, you can turn your wheels lock to lock fully stuffed into the fender and if the axles, brakes, steering,m etc is strong enough for 37", wich you´d have to either have prooved by an engineer or if you are an engineer you have to do the math and have a second engineer approve it and then you´re good to go. A LOT of work thoug!

Thanks for mentioning it though!

true, jeeps land rovers, unimogs over there, so nothing special. A truck over there is different. Something hardly anybody has.. like a Unimog in the states..

And just to make it clear. DOT is US only, true. TÜV is what is needed for Germany or ECE. But to get something approved that as no staping or approval is really tough. If it already has some approval like DOT, it is a little easier to get it road legal. Still needs an extra approval though
