Hi everyone,

I have been talking to Hutchinson about some forged 17" double bead lock wheels. The cast 17" ones they have don´t fit over my big brakes. They told me that unless I don´t get more than 25 wheels made, the forging company wouldn´t do it.

So now I´m trying to see if anybody here would be interested in a set of these wheels.

Specs: 17x8.5", 4.75" (5") backspacing, 0" (+6mm) offset, 8x6.5" BCD, double bead lock, forged, DOT approved, 8 spoke design, weight ~31.8 lbs per wheel, load rating 3200 lbs.

25 min quantity -> $1200 per wheel
50 -> $1100
100 -> $1000, etc.

Maybe if a race team or vendor would get involved and the number of wheels would go up, they could come down to $700 a wheel or so...

Please let me know if there is some interest, so that I might be able to get this wheel built! For pictures of the rendering please PM me and I´ll send you a pic, can´t post them in public...

Thanks!

Nice to see that you are funny guys... however I´m serious about it and would really appreciate people replying when they are serious, not joking!

Dude you tried this here before and it went over like a lead balloon. You will have a better chance on pirate with this but even then they aren't going to drop that kind of coin. why not just go to a 20" one that they make and not a custom one? Better yet use one of the 17" ones that they already make.

Better yet just be like every other person that runs beadlocks and recenter some H1's or take a set of 17" steelies and do a weld on kit.

Word.

Here's his other thread about 18" Hutch wheels that did not pass: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=304563

I don't think we're trying to be funny. Sarcastic more like it but the jury has spoken on your other thread and the price for these wheels are just not in anybody's wallet. Most of us here are day-to-day workers living on paychecks and most of us build our trucks on the cheap side.
As quoted above, you'd be better off posting this on Pirate as those guys are retards with obscene amounts of money to burn.

I can't justify spending $4800 for 4 wheels when there are tons of other and cheaper options.
That and $4800 is another truck payment right there. Or two of them. Or more. I think I'd rather have the trucks over the wheels any day.

yes I tried it with an 18" wheel but due to limited tire selection there was no interest. A 17" one has tons of tire options, so more likely to find somebody....

20" wheel gives me too little side wall on a 37" tire... The 17" ones they make are too small to fit my brakes as are the 16.5" H1 bead locks. And yes, 17" steelies might work, but they are heavy as heck and not DOT legal... I eplained that before so I won´t get into this again...

Yes 18" not 17". Since most everyone said 17" would be way better because of tire selection.. so here is the 17" version...

already posted it there too....

I can understand that and respect that. Not saying YOU should buy those wheels. But there are people out there spending money on the dumbest things, so I´m sure somewhere out there someone will be interested. Even if it is just one out of 10000... the problem is finding that one person... or company....

Maybe a vendor or company would get involved, much better than private people anyways... (larger volume)

Besides, just a personal thing, I like that design so much better than anyother wheel that I want it on my truck! ;)

I "could" be interested in those wheels if the price was around $500 per wheel but anything higher than that, no.

I have an '87 V30 dually that I've got my heart set to run 17" Weld Racing dually wheels and they're still selling for almost $600 per wheel.
While I've got my set of near-new Goodyear MT's for it, I can't find any 16.5" aluminum wheels that are "pretty" enough so I'm sticking with stock steelie DRW wheels, if I can find them.

Forgot to ask: what kind of response are you getting from Pirate?

Found this on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6017022-H1-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cd1dca89a&vxp=mtr

yep then just run drw hubs on a dana 60 and 3" spacers in the back or dana 70hd drw with srw hubs on the back .

then those h1 rims will fit.

so if you "could" be interested at a price of around $500 and that price would look way better for me as well, we need to find enough people to get a few hundred wheels made to drop the price to $500! ;)

Besides all the BS that is posted off topic there, only a few people are interested but not for that price. So same story. The only way to drop the price is if I get everyone together that would be interested and hope to lower $$$ that way. Kind of like a huge group buy.

that is a good idea, if I didn´t just finish building axles for it in regular width. Spacers are a no go for me. With a 72" WMS to WMS that would work but I have 69.25" up front and (van width) 70.25" in the rear. (.25" comes from the rotors sliding over the hub like the newer trucks do).

I don´t know what backspacing these H1 wheels have. I guess quite a bit though....

7" backspace .

and spacers are fine . guys have been running them for years. my self included.

you need to resurch the hummer rim b/s info more and see just how easy it is to fit them :whistle:
