my local pawn shop has a set of 17'' Mickey Thompson classic beadlock's for $350, the rims have a set of slick 37'' pro-comp tires...they are 6 lug rims, but the guy at the pawnshop doesn't know if they are for 73-87 trucks or for a newer ifs truck. how can i tell if they will fit my 96 tahoe? if they will, i want them and would put these tires on:

in this size:

265X70R17E (31X10.50R17)KUMMT $193.47

but if they won't fit my 96 tahoe, i have no use for them...everything i have from 73-87 is 8 lug. any info is appreciated...thanks ahead of time.

6-lug is 6-lug. Unless they came off of a ford. then I'd say pass, as they won't fit at all.

Why don't you take your jack & 4-way & see if he'll let you test fit one. Then you'll know for sure. For that price, that's what I'd do.

i bet on the inside of the wheel it lists the diameter, width, backspacing, p/n, etc.

no i think you have it wrong.

dodge dakota/durango had the small 6 lug. ford was 5/7/8 lug.

o.k. i might be 1/2 right. i do think some new new fords are 6 lug.

You are correct there. What was the BP for the dakota 6 lug? I think it's like 6 on 4.5 or something weird like that.

The later fords have a 6 on 135mm BP dimension.

I'd still take the jack & 4-way, just to make sure. But that's just me.

I believe these rims only come with a 5" BS so they fit either& just tuck in a little more on the older trucks.
