1948 Ford F1 budget resto-mod build

It drives great very stable and predictable, the old beam axle had the tendency to dart around quickly at higher speeds or when hitting bumps.

The overdrive is soooo nice, no more 3000rpms at 55mph.

There is a vibration it didn't have before though, only above 2000rpm so I need to do some investigating on that. I'm going to try a new harmonic balancer, but it may be from the stiffer poly bushing motor mounts too or the different tires, I'm not sure if they roadforce balance them or just static spin balance.

It doesn't seem like a driveshaft vibration because I had one on my jeep after I lifted it and it was different than what this is experiencing.

It looks a lot more stable, I bet the rack and pinion made a world of difference by itself.

and I'm sure you'll sort out the vibration.

It seems to be at speed like 4th gear 60+, but I haven't gone through all the variables yet like each gear at a higher rpm.

I did notice the pinion was angled a little high so I adjusted the lower links slightly longer to bring the pinion down, I'm also doing a mild c-notch to stay off the bumpstops.

Haven't posted here in awhile but have some cool pics from a show in san francisco and others from a road near my house.
