1970 3/4ton 4x4

Somebody has been watching too many Barrett Jackass auctions. ITs a nice truck, but not 15k nice.

The thing is really nice, but Theres WAY to much that I would do different. granted I doubt I could build one that nice, however what I would build, I would enjoy far more than I would with that one.

if it was a all original pristine low mileage factory 1 ton big block 4 speed truck with every single bell and whistle, then yes, 15K is a good price if you were wanting to show it, but not that truck.....

If someone is willing to pay $15K then it is worth it. If you are willing to pay then it is worth it to you but maybe not the next guy. A D60, to me, is not worth $800. With time and searching I might be able to find a D60 that is worth what I'm willing to pay. It's all about what you want/need at that time.

Right On! If I was single and w/o 3 kids who count on me then I would seriously consider buying this. For whatever reason I just fell in love with this truck and it would be an emotianal purchase. I would buy it to drive and haul my dirt bike around etc. I would buy it as a nice turn-key truck that I do not need to prodge on. The price would be worth it to me. But I am married w/ 3 kids and my money is better spent (or saved) elsewhere so in that sense it is over-priced.

Id say 8-11k would be more on the money. It is a very nice truck indeed, if someone was looking for one and money was not the concern..then yes its worth it. I would daily drive the hell out of that thing..add a supercharged 6.0, 6 speed, atlas 2 speed and some geared disk brake axles..

This thread makes me wonder if classic trucks will ever be considered collector’s items, like muscle cars are. There are certainly are trucks out there, which are very rare. Especially 4x4 trucks.

A truck like this would be highly underappreciated around where I live - Costa Mesa/Newport Beach). Most people would just not get it and would not comprehend the appeal that we have for these rigs. That is probably part of the reason why I like it so much.

I don't know Keith. I can honostly say that since I live in the same town as you 95% of the time I am out for a drive around town or up and down PCH in my '72 K5 I get at least one person giving me the thumbs up or yelling to me nice blazer, etc. Mine is pretty nice but these typically are guys in there mid 40's to late 50's who KNOW what i'm driving and can appreciate an older somewhat unique rig in nice condition. I'm guessing you must be thinking of all the knuckle heads who drive around in their Bentlys, Porches, Mercedes and Ferraris which are a dime-a-dozen in our town, thinking what is the big, ugly, loud, obnoxious blue thing that guy is driving. I don't want IT near my $200K car.:eek1:

Exactly. In my 1991 Suburban I get an occasional "nice sub" comment, but that is it (which is fine by me). Most of the time people next to me at a light just roll their window up so that they can still hear the phone call and hope that my exhaust smell does not ruin the taste of their latte. I'm surprised we have not crossed paths yet - I live near Adams/Placentia. I will keep an eye out for your K5.

When I drive around Las Vegas in my 1991 V3500 Crew Cab most people ether hate it with a passion because they cannot see around it due to it's 8" lift and 35" tires; or it goes unoticed because most people do not know the difference between a nearly 20-year old 1991 V3500, and the 100's of other 2005 thru 2009 lifted crew cab trucks in this town.

Only once in a great while does some guy notice it is an old solid axle, leaf spring, crew cab, 4X4 truck, with a dana 60 front and a full floater rear diff.

I think all you CA guys didn't see that this is a Michigan resident....and stuff like that in Mi, just aren't around every corner. That said, if anyone would like a look at it, I'm in Kzoo, which is where this truck is.

I see your truck and I raise you

To all the guys that say its not worth the money , I challenge you to restore one to that level for cheaper. there worth alot of money to the right people. and there expensive to restore

if you've never RESTORED a vehicle from the ground up I wouldn't expect you to understand.

I bet theres 2000.00 just in PARTS in the interior alone.
and even if the body was straight and rust free theres probally 2500-5000 worth of paint and body work.

and then theres ,trim, tires, wheels, engine and trans rebuilds, ect.

15,000 is a steal if you really know what goes into fixing one up
