Just joined great site. I just bought a 1970 Blazer and am trying to find more info on the front diff. I have pictures, but how do I get them on the site for people to see?

These are not stock, it looks like a dana 44 or 60 but has round balls at each end that the hub assembly turns on??????????????

Ya, I need to see it. you can use photobucket.

If it has a diff cover like this it is a dana axle.

The balls you are talking about mean that its a closed knuckle front.

Its probably a closed knuckle dana 44 but we can't tell for sure without pictures.

isn't there a d50 that is closed knuckle? what did they come in?

There are closed knuckle D60's and D70's, and I'm pretty sure many of the smaller axles (D25, D27, D30, etc.) from the same era are closed knuckle too.

AFAIK D50's are only TTB or open knuckle solid axle, no closed knuckle D50.
