Got a little work done over the weekend:
-Installed an old school hobrecht push bar
-New window weatherstripping for both doors
-Removed trim and painted bottom half of the truck black
Little more work done yesterday... worked on cleaning up the harness under the dash, took the old 80s stereo out of the dash (wasnt even wired up) Got a new air filter on there since the old one was rusty and moldy... and replaced all the marker bulbs. Plan on doing cap, rotor, plugs, wires, oil change, brake and coolant flush this weekend. Hope the weather holds out! Not going to lie... daily driving a 71 K5 is awesome.
I used to put 500+ miles a week on my '72 K5 years ago, commuting to work 65 miles each way...
I also used my '69 GTO to get to work in the better weather--only photo I have of it is one an insurance adjuster took of it after an 18 wheeler lost a rear trailer tire & brake drum on the highway as it passed me ,and it made a direct hit on the passenger side, totaled out the sheet metal, but I was still able to drive it home, and daily afterwards..
@diesel4me Nice! my commute is only 6 miles each way so its not too bad.. if it was any further i dont know if id want a 4 spd without a radio LOL plus id probably want a working fuel gauge! thats another item on my checklist for the weekend
Took the day off yesterday, went out and enjoyed the sun, and so did the pups. Was a good day, got some new tie rods in the steering done, new plug wires, motor mounts, and greased some stuff up. Oh and had a few beers while i was at it
