Well here I am getting a late start on the build thread. Which means plenty of progress to post!
A few months ago this 1972 Medium Bronze Blazer made its way to Nebraska. Purchased it out of the very SW corner of Colorado. Had a very pregnant wife at the time so I found a transport company. The whole deal started off great with the transport truck breaking down in the mountains on its way to get pick it up. Then a few weeks later another driver took the job and went to grab it. Little F150 that could…..
Their trip then turned into a 30+ hour job. Burning up an axle bearing and a blow out.
Anyways. Here’s the pics that I was sent when buying it. Seemed like a very solid orginal 1971 CST Blazer.
I knew it needed rockers.
Some one really half assed some cheap outers on.

I pretty much dug right into rockers and getting it polished up. Paint really cleaned up nice. This isn’t your basic bleach wash or anything lots of time spent with a rotary wool pad cut in years of oxidation out Then followed by a DA Rupes pad and polish

Mandatory 33x12.5x15s with white M1009 15x8s. And caps
Off to powder coat. One of these is not like the others. It’s a 15x8 Wheel Vintiques
Before tossing the wheels and tires on i did install a 1” zero rate and new u bolts.

The rust was definitely worse than I had expected so I figured I’d tackle that and feel better about my purchase.
Lots of cutting, grinding and welding later. The blazer no more rocker/b pillar rust.

The seats it came with were 73-75 low backs. They had correct 71-72 brackets on them. I was able to sell them and ordered TMI buckets and back seat cover on their 20% off sale without breaking the bank. This is pretty current interior status. Need to finish it up. Got the rear seat cover hog ringed on last night. Carpet and front seats are installed. Waiting for drop brackets for the rear seat

At some point I did all new body mounts also.
Used a really nice OEM style kit from Wes’s Happ. (Classic Heartbeat)

All the lower trim got repainted and new wood grain tape. Replaced 2 pieces.

Dang! Nice $40k blazer you got there now. I'm guessing maybe tripled the value with the work you've done. Unless you got a real good deal on it.

Classic Parts
Tore the dash apart. All new HVAC hoses, got the Retro sounds radio working. I didn’t order the mounting kit (sold separately from LMC). So it’s just hanging in there.

Cleaned everything good.
Painted and cleaned the cluster
Painted column and installed a black 15” factory steering wheel.

Radio done. Have 4 6.5” speakers in the rear panels. Need to order some kick panel speakers to add too that.
Blazer needs brake work after driving it to a cars and coffee Saturday. Rear wheel cylinder is currently leaking and fronts got real squeaky. That’s next on the list

When the seats showed up I took a break from body work. Drivers side was in primer the last couple months . Finally got the body work done and painted. This was similar work as passenger side but I did have to skin the corner of the door.
Back seat hasn’t been mounted either. Finally got it in place with the Hogan Built lowered brackets. These lower the seat 2”
