I have the C60 running with the rebuilt engine, but the temp gauge is pegged on H, whether the key is on or off. The fuse is good, so I am at a loss, and the fuel gauge is sitting at the 3 o’clock position as well. Any advice?

The fuel gauge should be due to an open circuit.
I can't remember if the coolant temp does the same when the circuit is open.
Try grounding the coolant temperature wire and see.

inspect the temp gauge sending wire, if it shorted to ground it will peg. look to see if it go pinched somewhere when engine was installed.

Grounding the temp wire doesn’t change anything, so it looks like Ill pull thr gauge and check the grounds on it.

I just checked it, 57ohm from the end to ground and no complete circuit. I need to do some internetting, I know the 1967-1972 crowd should have something on this.

I pulled the dash cluster and ran resistance on the gauge, and the resistor from top to bottom post is bad so there is my open circuit. I'll see if you can order that on its own.
