I run 4.56:1 with 35s. Still hunts up hill between 3 and 4. 4.56:1 on 33s would be good. Also make sure the converter is locking up in 4th.

We are driving around in 3rd a lot. Maybe not locking up?
Shouldn't lock up in 3rd. At least mine doesn't. What temps are you getting and where is the sensor?
There is 4.3 but might be hard to find.
With 3.73 and 33s you would only want to seclect 4th gear on an interstare. Use 3rd for all around town driving, possibly even a rual highway posted 55.

How big is your trans cooler? Because that can have a huge effect, especially if you are running it through the radiator, which I don't usually recommend.

Problem with 4.30 it's not available for all axles.
I ran 4.10 with 33" on both k5 and suburban and it works great with 700r4. Both with a 350 SBC
We resolved the transmission issue by adjusting the kick down cable and adding an extra cooler. We need to do gears down the road. The top should be done soon and I will do a photo shoot to finish out this thread.
Still waiting on the top.
We have it ripped apart and will start on the driveline and frame soon. We seem to have some type of massive extended range fuel tank. We kind of like the tank and may use it.
Looks like a 37 gallon unit. The interstate version. I had one from a 4WD aftermarket installer. Heavier gauge steel. Great unit.
We didn't use it but I will say that we may have needed it, with our 17 gallon aluminum tank we don't get much range with that 383 lol.
We've finished the build! We had it at a car show last weekend and got a lot of positive responses. I wanted to thank everyone here for helping me along.
