1973 blazer

LMC only sells one style of grille for '73-'80 trucks. It's a knockoff of the '77-'79 grille that doesn't even come with a bowtie molded into the center. They look really dumb and chintzy without that bowtie IMO.

'73-'74 grilles and '75-'76 grilles are not sold anywhere in the aftermarket. You have to find someone who has one for sale or go hunt down one in a boneyard.

Here's an example of the cheapo generic grille LMC sells:

the '73 grill will not fit, the outer mounts(not the bracket) are more in on the '80 and the '73 are wider and welded to the core support, the '80 is bolted in. :(
got a new water pump so im gonna go out and do that right now

thats what im confused about, my 80 gmc has a 74 grille. has no problems. ill take pics tomorrow.

Wow, that would be a first for me. All the grille mount brackets I've ever seen on these trucks (and I've seen a bunch) were bolted in IIRC. Never seen them welded to the core support, usually it's two bolts per bracket and they're off. That's weird.

Guess you'll have to replace that core support then! :D:D

I'm going to go look at the one on my Blazer...

That '80 grille looks pretty good, at least it's a factory original with the bowtie and all. :D

drove the sucker around the block.

:D

belts squealing and smoking from all the oil on the headers. lol

it drove fine other then that. i gotta change the filter on the trans for sure.

drove it yesterday, and as soon as i got down the street i lost a rear tire :doah:

lol took the spacers off, and when i got it back home fuel pump started to leak like crazy, so today i fixed both problems.

got a hi volume pump, and took spacers off
