Nice chop. Are the rear wheels chopped too, or are they really mirrors of the front?

::sigh:: I've been wanting a '74 Burb for a while, a cherry one like your truck or like that one appears to be, to go with my '74 K5 and '74 pickup :haha:

Nope. The pic was a '73 Burb, I just brought the rear of it in towards the front and recreated the gate behind it.

And brought the rear axle forward into the back doors, too, I just noticed. You have too much time on your hands =)) ... reminds me of some of the chops I did of a Chalet insert on a Burb..

How cool would have that been had it been built:bow:

You must be psychic. I was imagining this just last week. Awesome idea. Someone *needs* to build this!!!

What's great is that you managed to rework the back doors exactly as I'd envisioned so that they flow into the wheel openings. The only change I'd make would be to have barn doors in the back instead of the tailgate

If I had this body/frame combo, I'd keep it 2WD and give it to the girlfriend in hopes that she'd give up her '06 Tahoe and join the ranks of C/K'ers :D

And I was going to try and find another burb to chop, and do this (minus the camper) but quickly reaized it would turn out to be a 70's Avalanche.

Don't get me wrong I still may do this as a tow rig or somethingbut I still gotta finish my first burb chop-o-rama.

Hey...it'd still be better than a new Avalanche, right??? :wink1:

i believe metro just got pwned! and would that origional chop go on a longbed frame? hmmmmmmmmmmmm that would be a friggin sweet family rig. definately better than a hoe.

Hey now ;) (see sig)

Continuing the fantasy though... a 70's 'lanche would be SWEET! The biggest challenge would be to build an actual midgate, otherwise it's just a very short bed crew cab. :)

LOL...yeah, yeah... I know. :D

Really, both ideas are actually pretty cool. Even though it was photoshop'd, it's easy to imagine that someone with time and skill could make a '73 "Tahoe" look factory, and it'd be neat to see someone do the same with the Avalance concept. Actually, I want an interior fold-down gate for my K5 to keep stuff from sliding forward when I hit the brakes (I'm not gonna reinstall the back seat) so really, I'd like to see someone do the Avalanche idea to give me some ideas.

Too many ideas, not enough space or money :(

That would be O.K. I want to put a crew' on a reg. cab long bed frame.
I think it has to do with fitting 3 kids and a wife in a "large" not but not "huge" rig.

I don't think making an Avalanche would be terribly difficult really.

I mean the mid gate, yes.
Yes that would be a brain scratcher, most definately...

But the form of the body of the truck would be pretty straight forward. All I would really need right now is some bed sides, and my truck would look like an 89 Avalanche.

I am gonna attempt building a 70's Avalanche with my next truck, and use it as a tow rig.
