Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
I like that color alot, I've used that alot.
Should look killer. You going to Polish the edges of the ribs then? I guess I didn't 100% follow what your plan was.

I wet sanded them up to 600 grit and I’m on the fence about polishing them. I definitely don’t want them polished to a bright shine and I prefer a finish that is easier to maintain.

I wouldn't polish them to a chrome like shine, but I would take the paint off and clean them up nice and call it. Just need a contrast in my opinion.

Ended up with a graphite gray duplicolor wheel paint. Just laid the first coat.

brings back memory's of my set i did way back in the early 2000-2001 year range .

oh ya and i still have them .

dont forget the correct lug nuts and flat washers . also make sure to check the depth of the hole with a lug and washer to make sure they do NOT go past the bottom of the hole or the tire / rim combo will not seat up .

The red glow is a heat lamp?

yes, works great for curing paint.

it took some digging but I found the correct lug nuts and washers. I was familiar with them because my dad had a set on our family van as a kid. I also ran shank style nuts on my bogarts.

That will be perfect. I had 10” wides 35s 4” lift on my old 78 short box. I really liked that look.
That's how I got my 79.... I don't want to class up Matt's thread to much so I won't post a picture.
Lol.

That's the way God intended these trucks to sit. I am really looking forward to seeing this truck get finished. Even if Matt caved in to bents 3 pedal badgering.

Don’t hate

Those wheels turned out nice. I have the exact set so now I know what to do with them. Yeah they take those goofy shank nuts with the washers on them. I hate putting them on since they are always a pain the get the first nut started compared to regular acorn nuts.
