I'm highly interested in this truck. I just put my blazer up for sale as I don't have room for two squares. Yes, I'd be starting over, in regards to upgrades etc. But I've had my eyes on this era suburban for a while and this popped up. I have 3 kids, wife and a dog, the space would be nice. Yes not barn doors but I don't really care .

Thoughts?

Not great quality but he sent me video

I'd be worried about the rust up top. I looked at one that had similar rust and when poking around the door jams were soft. Make sure to look close especially for that price.

Yeah I see that as well. The flaking around that passenger window and the paint discoloration. Possible repaint or it s film over the bad spot I don't know.

I'm not close to the guy which sucks, he's about 3 hours away. He's not hiding it so that's good and he sent video.

Might be worth making the drive, it looks like a nice rig if the rust isn't too brutal.

The spot with the rust is common and a killer. I would be interested to see how bad the tail pan is rust wise
By the video it looks ok. But the video is for sure less than 240p when viewing. Hahah

If that's the only bad spot how much of a deal breaker is it? Will it just rot the window out eventually? The truck looks nice, sound nice. Hmm

I have my blazer listed on offerup for a fair price. I'd hate to start all over with upgrades but... so it goes.

Jesus.... I swear that more than half the replies. One guy seem really interested and the more I tell him about it, the moreI feel I should just keep it.

I really like that Burb. But I just don't know. My blazer has almost everything new. I'd be starting all over again and I don't know if I really want to do that after pondering all day about it.

I'd be gaining a 454 and extra row of seats along with 40 year old stuff.

My blazer has new 350 new th350, the lack of that Burb third row and the vast majority of stuff that is barely 5 years old. So I'd be losing a row of seats and a 454. Hmm.. also not having to spend 6 hours on the road getting the Burb, insurance, getting ti registered

I think that the color has caught your attention, which I understand.
And yes, the extra space and access is great.
The extra gas consumption isn't going to be great.
The emissions due to the year may be a decent factor, not sure.

I do know that there are cleaner bodies to be found for less or similar money. I saw an '89 with a 4 speed manual up here for $6k, IIRC, that looked pretty good. It would probably have problems passing emissions for you though.

Barn doors are so much better than rolling down a window to open the tailgate, you have to experience it! Blind spot be damned!!!
:haha:

Burb paint color matches your c10. If that's not fate I don't know what to believe in.

True but having a matching square to my c10, outweighs whatever flaws it may have. Hahahaha

I want to just buy it and say screw it and keep my Blazer as well. I can just be broke for a few more years

The time and money is in the upgrades, so seems like a step backwards. You could always go 454 in the K5 for a rather modest investment. FWIW, I run my K5 as a 6-passenger sometimes. Not enough cargo space to camp 6 people, but there is always roof-top, trailer, etc. (Easy for me to say, I also have 3 Suburbans!)

The goal is to add to fleet, isn't it?

Yeah. I've been weighing the $$ options all day. I'd like to have both the Burb and the Blazer. Selling the Blazer even with a modest profit to put into the Burb I'd still be losing money. I've put a ton of $$ into the K5 and hate to see it go.

I want a round eye Burb, just my preference for the round eyes. Having both probably isn't wise financially but.. I can't help it, the color way and that tan plaid interior as well, is pulling me in.. hahah
