1975 4x4 suburban help with purchase

Your blazer is a steal not the suburban!
My bet is theres a ton of rust you cant see, plus the obvious rust Dr side front fender door tailgate pass side rear window roof etc..
Man maybe I need to rethink the price. That's insane. Mine does have cosmetic issues. Dented door and roof and couple rust spots. Nothing major but..

I don't believe that list prices necessarily indicate actual sale prices with all of those listed above. I know that the market is crazy, and you don't want to miss out on money if you sell yours, but I have seen many vehicles sit for sale a long time with a high price. I suspect that several of those will.

But I wouldn't jump too quickly on anything that has rust in the roof before a thorough investigation. I guarantee that it's more extensive than it looks.

I had mine listed for $15k and it sat for a few months. I dropped it to $12 and I got replies.

So yes I agree with you which is why I priced mine at what it is at 12.8 but seeing those makes me think I may be able to stretch it up to 13-14k

At the end of the day. I don't really want to sell it but I don't have room for Burb, K5, c10 and our other 2 daily drivers. I mean I do. And as usually my wife's think we don't have enough room, I disagree of course.

It's probably not a wise decision financially as I've just paid off what I put on my CC doing the K5 and C10.

I'm a bit torn. I want the Burb but I don't need the Burb. Also when would that color way come around again, probably never.

By the time you fix the body damage and rust it wouldn't be that color anyways. Find a fixer upper and get it repainted eventually. I can promise you that truck has more rust than you can see
I don't doubt that.. I should just what $$ I have to fix the rust on my blazer... hahaha
But that would be the smart thing

I prefer the "Devil I know", vs the "Devil I don't" when I have the choice. Put a few more $$ into finishing your Blazer and you'll be much better off. That roof rust is disaster waiting for a new owner to deal with.

Just my two cents.
Yes...this is why I'm here. The more experienced, to lead me down the right path not the compulsive path..

For sure fix the k5 and paint to match the c10. Don't spend mega bucks on the paint though, if we going to wheeling in north central AZ next year

If you want a burb, be patient and wait for a rust free one, even if it needs paint. You will
Be way ahead vs buying one with rust. Rust is always worse than you think and it can snowball fast.

You will kick yourself if you rush into it and sell your k5

I would look for an '87-'91 V series Suburban with rear AC.

They are better rigs, and the rear of a Suburban gets hot without it. I imagine it would be worse down there.

I pulled the blazer add and will just hang tight with it. Thanks for advice, I do appreciate it.

I really want a round eye Suburban but not enough to lose money.

That Suburban is NOT "all original", as you could not get a 454 in a 4x4 Suburban (until a GMT400).

My second thought as well. Saw the BBC, and then had to circle back to see if it was 2WD. Nope, 4WD...had to be a swap. Then saw TH350...at that point my thoughts are run away...

Easier to swap a "Round eye" front end onto a later rig, than to deal with this ones issues.

Yeah I was blinded by the color. I thought 454 was always paired to the th400? Also appears full time 4wd as well.
Was the 203 paired to this combo from GM?

TH400 or SM465 would always be the trans behind a 454. That or a 4L80E later on. The TH350 and 700R-4 behind these is a sure sign of a swap, and a poorly planned swap at that. Lastly, the 454 is a bit much for the 10 bolt or D44 front end too...which is why GM never offered that combo stock.
That Sub probably had a 350/TH350/NP203 stock...
