NV 1976 GMC Chalet

I dig the 70’s paint schemes. My ‘85 is getting the orange plaid interior they had.

So would it be a 4-door Chalet?

Yeah basically,

When I do it I’m gonna use the entire rear portion of the blazer tub and then modify a crew cab K30 frame so the wheelbase is longer . That way I can get rid of the long overhang the burbs have .

My thought is to have the chalet finish the back with the suburban frame.
The blazer chalet has a 2' or so frame extension that is so cheesy, I prefer having a solid one piece frame.
I originally had plans to put it on a crew cab but the one I had had too much rust so I scrapped it. Now I have 2 suburbans so one can be a chalet.

More or less my idea as well but using the K30 frame since it’s thicker and taller ,

At this point I don’t have a chalet to do the project with though . So I may just build a burb with a blazer back half . I will be using the burb in my Avatar.

Awesome idea. I can’t wait to see one.

There was a member here that converted a burb to have a blazer rear , turned out sweet.

Another member , Craig Arztner I think?? Did some really cool photoshops of the original chalet add with a converted burb.

The chalet shell is intended to be "permanent", but the way it fits makes it look temporary. I mean, the sheet metal ends with taillights, then the fiberglass shell extends back and then more taillights. Would be interesting to see somebody graft it in like it's all 1-piece - you know, if you're cutting/grafting a new back onto the vehicle anyway...
