NV 1976 GMC Chalet

The chalet shell is intended to be "permanent", but the way it fits makes it look temporary. I mean, the sheet metal ends with taillights, then the fiberglass shell extends back and then more taillights. Would be interesting to see somebody graft it in like it's all 1-piece - you know, if you're cutting/grafting a new back onto the vehicle anyway...
I agree 100% which is why I already have been designing how I would blend it.
I cut out the floor.
I will have access to the space in front of the wheel well.
It will be fully integrated

... pretty sure this thing was in Pahrump not too long ago.......
Casa Grande #0687 built in 8/76. The seller's been unable to dump it in multiple multi-state Craigslist ads because he has it priced more than double what it's worth in such lousy condition.

...Another member, Craig Arztner I think?? Did some really cool photoshops of the original chalet add with a converted burb.
That was our man Dr Emu, creator of the original blazerchalet.com website. His photo alterations are -- or were -- in this thread, where we were also discussing the one-and-only completed 'burb Chalet conversion I've ever seen (showed up in Fargo then disappeared). Looks like the altered brochure photo links are now busted, but they've been circulated around da interwebs so far and wide that people mistake them for an allegedly real product from GM, e.g. this Pinterest photo link copy example - scroll down to the bottom.

"Suburban Chalet: For those who think the rear overhang of a Suburban isn't long enough," Looking at that photoshop makes think of all the places that thing couldn't go. The Sub almost has to become a 2-door to pull the whole camper forward. At least for kids, they could still use the rear-most camper door to get in and out if needed. Wonder how that length would compare to Blazer Chalet? I'm sure any extra interior space is much appreciated. The 2nd row seats could swivel to be part of the "living area", but it would also give you more options how to lay things out. Obviously way easier to get a 3+3 cab, short bed and drop-in camper, but I realize this discussion isn't about the easy way.
