I very much want this but it is not going to happen. So I thought I would share the love.

1977 Chevrolet Silverado Camper Special 4X4 Dually 1977 Chevy Silverado Camper Special 454, Automatic, 4X4, Gear Vendor overdrive, PW, PL, AC(all work), Alcoa wheels, 7 like new tires(even spare). No dents in body - surface rust on hood - no rust elsewhere.- good chrome. Deluxe interior. This was a top of the line truck for 1977. This truck is a beast!!! Needs minor carb work or new carb. $5500 obo price will be $6500 if I fix carb.

Local classifieds. I think there's a contact number that I forgot to copy. I can get it if interested. And I agree that a carb is not worth a grand increase in price.

Looks like a SRW truck with rear duals and fenders. I think if it were and original dually it would have the trim on the fenders (and of course DRW front hubs).

Looks like a 3/4 ton front axle with the lockout hub being so small compared to the chrome cap as it sits recessed in there a bit. A D60 lockout wouldn't sit as deep as a 3/4 ton would as the cap would protrude past the chrome center cap.

I also notice the bottom of the frame rail doesn't sit quite a low as a K30 does. Wonder if this is a simple 3/4 ton with a D70HD rear and bed added to it?

And as others have said.....a carb fix/rebuild/replace definitely isn't anywhere near $1000.

Now I wanna crawl under it and take all the pictures, prove him its a cobled together truck and offer him $2000.

Since you couldn't buy a factory K30 in 1977, it is either a converted C30 or K20. If the truck was a factory K30 dually the price wouldn't be out of line, but I doubt it is anything but a franken truck.

likely the reason behind the $1K price is the cost of the carb and the smog check. I'm willing to bet he doesn't want to deal with the smog at all, who knows if the carb really is the issue or some other problem it has.

My $0.02

Doing some research for no good reason and found this old picture. That particular website stated 77 was the first year of the C/K30. Noticed that the trim on this didn't go around the dually fender either. However, this does not excuse the front axle not being a drw application.

This was the place if anyone is interested.

'77 was the first year.

If you look, you can see the rear fenders have additional trim that ties together the upper and lower trim on the bed. Those trim pieces are much harder to find than the fenders themselves, and it's missing on the truck in the ad.
