1977 Chevy C10 shortbed resurection/restomod/ratrod

I'm very tempted clear coat everything as it sits and drive it for a while but I'm looking for caps and trim rings for the wheels.

Went looking for temporary used tires and ended up dropping the wheels off for sandblast and powder coat instead. Going with a metallic silver.

New tires will be mounted when they get back. It is funny how what was once the most common size tire in the USA is now rare and hard to find.

Silver?

That will look strange with hub caps.

They are factory rally wheels that look like this in good condition:

235/75-15" ?..
Yes, I can still get new tires at a moderate cost, but they are getting to find used.

Yeah I see that now. I just saw the white wheel on top of the pile when I asked about blasting them and painting them white.

Yeah,I have been keeping my eyes peeled for some for my '81 G-10 van...only vehicles I see with that size in local salvage yards are older Jeep Cherokees, most have sat too long and developed weather cracks..ones that were never used spares sometimes can be found still under the truck in the holder, but they usually want 40-60 bucks for those--better than half the new price..rather put the money towards new if the're going to charge that much when the tires could still be junk from age..

My van has those rims on it,I have a set of 4 that are 8" wide, plus several others ranging from 6 ,6.5,and 7" wide..seems like every time I came across one cheap, they were never "matched"..

My K10 Suburban came with the 6 lug version of those rally wheels too.....

I pulled the rear drums and found they are out of spec and grooved. They will go on the list to be replaced.

Damn that turned out nice, this should turn out to be a good driver. Nice c5 btw.

Rotors dropped off to be turned. I picked up new calipers, pads, and seals for the front. Ordered new drums for the rear. I will grab the rest of the parts for the rear brakes when the drums arrive.
