This tread will be a build thread of sorts. Mostly a documentaitino of the tinkerings.

Last week i traded my 78 K25 for this 77 C20 crew cab.

Short term plans are to do a full round of "new used vehicle maintainacne" Stuff like full tune up, new fluids, etc. The truck has sat for nearly 10 years before i got it so it needs a good going over before it's really road worthy.

Long term plans are to convert it to 4x4, get it painted, and probably end up with a 6.0 or 8.1.

Here are some pics.

My old K25,

The Crew Cab.

Stay Tuned! Should be a fun project!

Sweet! I still think that the steering wheel knob is downright strange. Is the wheel overly difficult to turn? :dunno:

And I'll claim the honor of posting the first reply. :)

Can't decide if first mod should be an '88-91 steering wheel, or TBI. And yes I saw you wanna do one of them fancy motors. :)

Nice truck though. Makes me miss my sixpack some.

I don't know why the knob is on the wheel? It turns just fine! Tbi would he cool in the mean time!

Lots of people used to mount those knobs to the wheel back in the day, made 1 handed full lock parking lot turns really easy! Knew some people that would pretty much never actually touch the wheel, they'd just drive with one hand on the knob. Great looking truck! Love the fact that it so perfectly matches your K25 you traded for it! I look forward to watching your build thread!!!!

Thanks! So boredom and curiousity got the better of me and i went out and played in the rain with some nu-finish. I dont think there is any saving the paint, but if i do the rest of the truck, it might not look so ghetto until i get it painted! The shinyer areas are what i did with the nu-finish.

After those shiney spots were done (which took a good bit of elbow grease!) I just quickly went over the whole fender. I think it will at least help the look!

When I remember and I'm on the computer! Lol I do at least 90% of my Internet stuff on my phone which makes it difficult to do that stuff. Especially since the avatar has to be all customized and stuff to make it small if I remember right.

Are you gonna ditch the topper thing?

Im excited to see what you do. The 4x4 swap sounds like a pain with the 2wd frame from what Ive seen. Id have some good conversations with MRK5 about that.

Looks good Mitch. As you know I loved the other rig alot, but I have faith that you wont let me down :D

Thanks! Yes I just put the topper on cl today. I have done a 2wd to 4wd swap before on a suburban. It wasn't that bad. The troubles Scott delt with were in part just due to his particular setup. Mine will be relatively "easy". I have NY fingers crossed to pick up a Dana 60 over 4th of July weekend!

Killer. Is it getting an altitude change?

Keep the '77 only yellow stripe down the trim :pimp:

Lookin' good!

I like the 8.1 upgrade idea!

What is that paint code(s) Does it still have the glovebox sticker? Snap a pic if it does!
