i don't know of any places to wheel over there. nor even any places local to me except running on the county roads when it rains. wish i had some land to play on.

Matador is straight south of you on 62 headed to paducah. Its 600,000 acres of public land for hunting and camping. I imagine its got a few 4x4 trails.

I am going out to marshall creek today again, we didnt go back far enough to see the area that lets you go on the lake (thank god). Come out and see it and tell me i its worth it! I am looking for blazer experts around here. I live in grapvine. The second one has so many engine mods... Ill get pics and post them today. A mechanic friend of mine is also looking at it. Where is close to grapevine that is better than marshall creek? I know most will be better, but i just dont want to drive so far. I thought about doing a shackle flip and 2 and 4 inch springs, lowering it 2 inches. its really only lifted 6, and has 35 inch tires so it stis lower than one would think. I believe the shocks should be fine with lowered suspensions. Other than that Id never be able to afford the 1 ton equitment or engine parts. Ill post pics comparing the two later today.

I thought someone said there was a lot down by 386, i guess it ain't really legal.
you mean 360? that is Trinity, a lot of people have spent a lot of money being caught in there.

As far as legal places to wheel in dfw, there are at least a dozen spots I know of in the McKinney/Allen area. While not exactly "designated off-road parks" they are fun and not necessarily illegal. As far as the blazer, I would look at the one that is already built. Simple as that. Sure there is a great deal of satisfaction from busting your ass building your own truck, but for the price, I would probably get the truck on one-tons. Also look at both trucks for cracks around the steering gear, cracks in the frame around all four shock mounts, rust in the rockers and floorpans etc. Have fun testing the truck today! Oh yeah, turn your pm's on so I can tell you where to wheel around here.

I could swear we turn left at the MCdonalds in Childress and head down 63 or 68 somthing and it runs right into the gate. I am usally passed out by the time we get there and I never drive to it. Have a hunting Buddy that refuses to go up there in anything less than his Duramax.

might be worth checking out, drop me a line when you get up if you want :D

i can show you the junkyard :D

We should have a gatehering of k5 members somewhere. Go out to marshall creek and tear down those bars they put up, get to that pond and the old trails, could realy tear those up! What is the recomended rating for a winch on one of these? I plan on pulling other people out. Not me. Most of the time anyway.

I just recently turned 18, havent hunted since 15, and miss it. I have a decent collection of rifles, what's near here? yesterday in marshall creek we actually saw 3 doe and 1 buck just off before the main gate.

Looks like I may go with the larger one. Just have to find a winch for it. Where do ya'll recomend buying boggers?

Here are the pics of the second blazer. Not sure now if that is in fact a one ton rear end, but drive shaft does look like a one ton. All are links to the larger image, but beware there 7.1mp shots. If you zoom in you see its had 2 layers of paint. Lol this is split over posts, it said I posted too many images.

its not a 1ton, dont think that guy really knows what hes talkin about. :dunno:

to me it doesnt look that much better than the first, especially since its not 1ton. have u driven it yet?

no way it has 6-8" lift either....ive got 8" and its alot taller than that...also the driveshaft angle doesnt look too bad, id say its got 4". this looks and sounds fishy, think id leave it alone.
