I’m picking up a 78 C30 parts truck for my 74 Suburban K20, toying with swapping the crew cab onto the suburban frame. My concern is what’s needed to get the 78 crew cab swapped to manual trans set up? My Suburban is a factory 4 speed, but I have an SM465/205 combo from an 86 K30 going in, have hydraulic pedals, hydroboost, the whole 9 yards. I understand that 86 and up cabs have the dimples in the firewall for the master cylinder push rod and bolt holes, is there any other mods that need to be made for the 80’s stuff to work on a 70’s cab? Also, can someone send me the template for the bolt holes that’s floating around? I know it’s been posted but couldn’t find it after a few searches.

I’m not sure if I want to do the cab swap or not but I’ve wanted to for a long while and my suburban body is beat the hell, rusted, the wiring is jacked up, and I wanted to go back to the 70’s front clip (my suburban has an 89 front clip). So, yeah, anyone have a good opinion on that to help sway me either way? Lol.

Thanks guys!
