1978 K20 farm truck "Boring maintenance phase"

1978 K20- Rusty beater farm truck
I was actually going to paint over all of it chevy orange today. The CAT yellow was originally a joke, But after all the comments, this bitch is staying yellow :pimp:
Just hope it doesn't run like a DOG. Youll never live it down

It's a bone stock TBI 350, I expect nothing less than anemic behavior. But my goal all along has been something 100% dead reliable that I can be lazy and not pop the hood on between oil changes. Right now the 400 burns enough oil that I don't change it. It's all new before it hits 2,000 miles anyways

Despite being on vacation from work for the races engine build time hasnt been as plentiful as I'd hoped. Here's just a few pictures from the last few days of work. Only thing I'm lacking is a freeze plug and getting the 400 yanked out before I can stab the engine back in.

Lacking a bench grinder this was how I cleaned head bolts. No fingers were seriously harmed in the making of this.

I'm running out of time for this project so the intake never got blasted. Oh well

Getting the valves set this afternoon. Used an old ESC distributor for my priming tool. Was able to hit 40PSI before the chuck would slip on the shaft.

Hopefully I can get around to pulling the truck apart the next few days but no guarantees. Now that I've got the engine assembled the carb decided to start running like a top. Go figure
