Hi guys, Well i'm looking at getting back into the blazer arena again. I've owned 2 in my life and the calling is back. I've spotted a 1979 blazer with a 400/t400 on a lot. The guy is asking 1800 for it. What does everyone thing of the 400 engine? And does the price seem reasonable? The truck has no rust, tires are brand new (but to small).
Thanks for your help /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

$1,800.00 doesn't sound bad at all if it runs good and everything works. I have a 400 small block in my 76 K5. Good engine.

400's are the best small block every made IMHO. They are very torquey and wind up just as well as a 350. I have mine punched out mildly and love it.

A th400 factory? in a blazer? That sounds odd.

I havn't driven it yet, but the guy told me the motor has been rebuilt and everything works on the truck. The worst thing about my sickness is I have a warn 8274 W/ bumper for a chevy sitting in my shed at home....I'm just itchin to get her mounted up and get into trouble! /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

I could be wrong about the t400, I was looking at another that did have the 400/t400 and I just assumed the was the combo they came with. most likley a t350 then?

If its clean , buy it , then fill out your profile with your location , and go wheeling with the members near you /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

[/ QUOTE ]I would figure it's a th350. IIRC the "specs" page lists a th400 as an option but I have never seen or heard of one from the factory.

Nothing wrong with the 400 sbc....Gonna build mine up someday if I can't find a reasonably priced BBC /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
