1979 K-10 Stepside Shortbox - Beagle's Build -

Hx35s have a few options that could work for that motor. The larger exhaust housings probably work niceley and they're cheap to find and rebuild and can be operated in a pretty wide range. If your looking for top end anyway.. lemme dig up a compressor map.

Steve.....your in the wrong thread again....
Turbo's go in the unexciting g body thread.
If this truck saw artificial atmosphere it probably would be created by a supercharger.....

It might be, but that's where its building the most power, we made a pull at 40 and it lost power. So 38 it is.
Small Chevy's love timing it seems.

That pull there was also with a 850DP
Afr will be better with the fuel injection. I think we made 14 pulls that day. Need to find the rest of my dyno sheets....
I agree with you. I always play with the timing to see how it works out. Of course I have had to do it for altitude compensation of sorts . .. I have always lived above 4700 ft since I started driving!

I am glad to see you going on this!

Chambered mufflers are cool. I still remember when the 1 of 1 ZL1 was in the shop I used to work at. Sounded like hell ****ing fire with that exhaust.

If you want loud do what I did. Flowmaster outlaws in a large pipe.

It will be stainless headers dumping into true 3" duals, mandrel bent, with x pipe. Over the rear axle dumping out behind the tires. I have a plan with a few tricks up my sleeve for the system. Should be pretty nice. I'll build it myself with some basic speed shop bends and my trusty Lincoln 275 precision tig. Doubt I'll go full stainless pipes, just headers.

I might look into those chambered mufflers some more. I love the sound of them. A buddy of mine had a 02 Camaro with headers and chambered mufflers from GMMG Sounded so sweet.
It will be those hookers, or flow master 10s or some dynomax bullets ( which basically are flow master outlaws)

The magazines and the internet with tell you 10-15... I figured there are enough dyno tests out there to prove it's worth...

Since my system will be brand new and scratch built it's worth it to put it in.
If I already had a system, I don't know if I would mess with it...

I was trying to decide on h or x ... I keep telling myself that the x is gonna make it shriek but I'm starting to think that's more a cam and muffler thing

X pipe all the way. You won't see any performance builds using a H.

Ive read H for torque X for HP.

Not sure Ive ever actually seen that substantiated but meh. Ill probably be doing an H in my truck just for sound to tone it down a tad.

For the race I'm going duals but afterwards depending on the sound I still wanna try the x.. damn corvettes screwed it up for me.. freaking x pipes sound amazing..
