1979 Suburban with blazer removable top

woa....most excellent!!! :bow::bow::bow::bow::bow::bow:

been looking hard at my blue rust bucket sub...I just re read this thread, dam purty work!!

I just gotta try this.

It might cost me another marriage....but I've been there before. Hell, a good truck is hard to find!:pimp:

Got my SoftTop put on which is great. I also got a cd player for my birthday and a couple 6x9s so i installed those. My wife and I drove the truck 1400 miles last week on a vacation to oregon. Went and played in the mud, snow, and went snowmobiling. The truck is pretty dependable. Only a few problems which was the stock gearing in the axles which made going over a couple mountain ranges interesting and a annoying rear intake gasket leak which barfed oil everywhere. The ammount of gas I used is the same amount my honda uses in a year. The kidna sucked but was well worth actually getting my truck off road.

I didn't even think of a soft top for a Suburban like yours:waytogo: That looks awesome!

I thought it would be cool to have a Chalet camper on the back of a Suburban, could really go camping.

Sweet photos! I can't wait to get to Oregon sometime, it looks so beautiful!

I'd love to see your Sub in person sometime... Fairfield isn't exactly a close drive, however I am working there from time to time, and we pass by every time we hit the road to Tahoe...

This is an absolutely great conversion.

I have been in the fab business and auto tech off oand on for many many years. I have seen a lot of rigs come and go, but this is a superb JOB

AAAAAAA +++++++ on this one.

Enjoy the fruits of your efforts

Thanks, I might do it over again and actually make it look perfect. Mine is a beater that looks good from 10feet. After I get my garage cleared of the current project I may build another one. Yes I plan to drive the hell out of it and scrape the paint up.
