And rear interior pics? Interested in how you finished the metal work in the interior. I THINK I know how I am going to do mine, but just wondering on yours.
Looks good brother, gives the rest of our small community motivation to finish what we started.
I never really finished the bedside. Just welded some random scraps of metal in the sides and didnt even grind the weld down. I just bedlined over that. I was supposed to be moving quickly so I figured I would redo them some othertime. Well didnt end up moving and now dont really care because it works great but is kinda ugly. I also didnt completely finish smoothing out the top. But it is painted nicely over the semi smooth metal work.
Not sure if I know what you mean by taller. Do you mean the roof heights where to halves meet up? In my case the roof starts to raise after the middle of the front doors. I would redo mine a little different I shoud of cut it in the middle of the door frames like I did. It sucked the door frames toward the middle of the truck. I didnt use bracing but wish I would have because is was a pain to get them pushed back out. Also I have a litte spot were it is stress cracked but has not progressed. I know why it did that. I Would would pretty much have done it the same way except for where I cut the door frames.
I guess what I meant was if you cut off the back of a Suburban floor and all clean off behind the rear doors could you do the same to a Blazer and make it fit on the Burb.
not trying to hijack this thread but are the pics of your truck at the water crossings on the way to Knoxville near Lake Berryessa? just curious as I see you're from fairfield.
Thanks, Im glad people like it, but i wish I had a shop and could finish the body work and get it painted properly. My 2 car garage is full of tools and my plymouth duster getting a 4 link.
All I can say is WOW! Incredible build and it looks awesome. Wish I had this kinda talent. This was something that I was thinking would look so cool. You pulled it off just like I envisioned it. Very clean work.
I'm ready to see yours finished and compared it to mine. We did things differently but will end up with the same basic truck. I have a 1 inch hair line crack one each side right behind my rear doors. They haven't went any farther than that. It starting to rust a little because water is getting in through the hairline crack in the paint so i'm gonna sand it and just put a little bed liner on it so it can still flex and not cracked again. I also didn't finished sanding the top all the way before painting so its still a little rough on the top. I figured no one will see if so heck with it for now till I get a ship I can drive it in and get it repainted.
