Oh yes indeed, I'm just worried about buying one and it not being long enough to accomplish what I need.
 
Reading and looking at this on the laptop is a lot easier then a cell phone, makes a lot more sense and the new steering shaft shouldn't be very hard to accomplish.

Come to think of it, there won't be any slip in the shaft anymore, I hope that won't be a issue. I could do the slip joint in the bottom half of the shaft after the support bearing, how much would be enough? few inches say about 3?

Don't really need a slip in the joint. The slip is for collapsing in an accident. Two joints do that instead.

Slip would make it easier to install though.
 
Not going to lie I haven't messed with the truck in awhile. Some what burnt out on it and needed a mental break.

Here is a picture for Chris, I seem to recall saying the links don't go outside of the frame rail that much, I can tuck the link bracket next to the frame for ridiculous amounts of bump travel if the engine wasn't in the way.

Keep in mind that the frame is ~6" more narrow at the front of the links than the rear. Where is your axle set, side to side?
 
It's centered in the middle of the frame, about as close as possible with a tape measure, I want to say it's within 1/4 to 3/8's max and that's pushing it.
