Limp mode is usually lack of a 12v signal to the transmission, my vote is something electrical - some issue with the plug to the transmission. Do you have the old tranny plug to compare pins? I suppose you could google a pic and compare.

I'd find this hard to believe also, if it worked fine before the terminator, I would think base tune has to be close if not exactly stock for the transmission.
Completely agree and the vss sensor not working could cause it not to shift as well. I need to go over these items and I bet it works.

I’d bet the settings are close to stock in the Holley. That’s a pretty safe start

Yes, it's not the tune itself or it would just shift at the wrong time, something isn't making connection to even operate the trans. Once you get everything corrected it will work pretty close, and you can tune the shift points and line pressure from there. There is also WOT shift points where it will shift for performance driving above a certain throttle %.

I ramp the line pressure up pretty quick above low throttle to avoid slipping. So if you are just babying it it will shift softer but you get on it at all and you want higher pressure to avoid slipping and heat.

Right now 2nd gear bangs pretty hard under light throttle and full throttle it doesn't scratch tires like it used to.

Already looking for tune files for the trans. :waytogo: I will give it a shot

Traded a buddy a ord banner for this tuffy console. The plan is to make brackets off my seat frame and build these side panels. This will house my radio, tcase shifter, ecu lights and USB plugs.

Because of @Bent77 bringing up tuning he has inspired me to talk to Greg the trans builder, he gave me some psi recommendations to hit and now I want to tune the trans.

Ordering this.

Lots going on in digital tuning, need to protect your investment

I run a 500 psi pressure sensor with my ECU. With that during every run I log trans pressure, turbine speed(from 4L80E), output speed, trans temp, etc. So with that info and engine RPM, I created channels that display converter slip and clutch slip, I can even see how fast the trans actually shifts. You can also go in and see exactly how many seconds it took you to get to 60 MPH, or 100 MPH, etc. Its pretty trick.

Also, keep in mind, zero current is full pressure, you won't go above that without mechanical trans mods. So the current actually ramps down to increase pressure. Its a fail safe, so if you lose all electronics, it has full pressure.

My trans is pretty modified with a boost valve, pump and valve body work. It has as catalog of sonnax parts to help it.

So one of my weaknesses is wiring, I'm trying my best to get this thing right and not take any short cuts.

Hooking up my front lights everything works, but when I turn the head lights on the right turn signal stops working. It won't click the flasher. Any guesses on what that could be?

A lot of these type problems are ground related. You have a wiring diagram?
Not really, I'm using the factory 91 light harness with a weather pack in the middle to go to the ez wiring harness. All grounds are on. It's just weird as soon as head lights go on it kills the turn signal. Also the passenger side isn't as bright... which is a suspect to a ground issue...

Ground on doesn't mean ground is good. Certainly sounds like that

How much '82 is left of the wiring?
