Yah I know. Goal is to have it drive able and be able to have some fun with it by then. Won't be done don't but hopefully very close. Oh yah cross over steering and hydro too
 
Ok, let the FAQ start...

When I was in the off road shop the other day which will be charging my shocks and bumps they recommended around 50psi for the bumps... I thought Wade mentioned around 200? They said 200 would be like hitting a wall.

What do you guys think about this sway bar? Seems they include everything in the "complete kit" but the links coming off the arms which comes in around 560 bucks. :doah:

I don't know anybody who runs 50 psi. Lowest I have seen is 150. The weight of the truck is what requires the pressure. Maybe those are special bumps? I have bottomed out my front at 200. The rears have gone to 80% of stroke.
 
I thought that sounded really low, do you know how much the jimmy weighs?

Why are these sway bars so expensive. :eek1:
 
6550 without my fat but in the drivers seat. 100 lbs heavier on the front axle than the back.

Not a lot of them sold. Low production = high cost.

I thought about cutting a torque tube off of a bug. Refabbed the arms and make my own sway bar. A lot of other work would have to go into it.
 
These are just Fox 2.0's with a 3 inch stroke, so nothing special. This was more of a VW and sand rail shop.

I wish I had access to a machine I bet I could design and build this much cheaper.

Once I get this suspension stuff done I should be able to put this together at a faster pace.
 
I just noticed that auto correct put nitrous in.:doah: I saw it giving me the word and hit space. Nitrogen is the correct gas to be used.
 
Shop sounds like they dont know jack about full size. Ive heard 150-200 psi in the bumps.


50 sounds like you might as well have a steel bar as your bump stop to me :doah:
 
The weight issue was the biggest draw back when I was working with Sway-A-Way. Fox and King said it couldn't be done. Amazing how things change in 8 years.
 
They were willing to try. Fox and King told me I had to come up with a different suspension design or lighten the truck and go to smaller dampening components. Didn't make sense to me. The German engineers at SAW saw it as a challenge. And we succeeded. IMO.

Interesting they didn't want to bother with you, I would have to agree you guys did a great job.
