I was actually being serious about the class. That's how I learned how to weld. You might never arc weld again, but the fundimentals you learn all transfer to MIG.
 
Anybody know what Tire Rolling Radius is? Seems to me a 35 inch tire would take 35 inches to do a complete rotation? but calculating air pressure and speed would change it so whats a happy medium?
 
Radius is 1/2 of the diameter. Then subtract the compression amount. Has nothing to do with the circumference.

This is going to be interesting. Designing a truck over the internet.
 
Interesting concept, seems I read some wrong information and got confused. I understand it now when I break the terms up and see the meaning. Half of 34.6 is 17.3 say figure 16.3 as a figure to input into the calc would be good.

:haha: Just have good faith in me. This is a 3 link for dummies.

Now for the weight of this thing is a guess, I'm thinking in between 5000-6000lbs fully complete. What does the peanut gallery think?

You also need to take the unsprung weight off for the calcs. No idea what something like that will weigh. Mine is 6550 and 100lbs heavier on the front axle.
 
Thanks for the correction, forgot my cheat sheet said to figure that also.

I think I have a old version of the calculator cause those options are not in.
 
Another few hours spent messing with the calculator, figuring this out now. Still not 100% positive on a anti squat number, In my case sense this is for the front. When transferring this to the front it's anti dive number under braking when the brakes are applied.

With a high anti dive the front will want to pull forward under movement. Triaged recommends 50% as his opinion.

When I get all the values figured out and solid, I'm going to see if Adam is still interested in making it in cad to check.
 
Keep the real world in mind when you are designing that. Imagine what the link mount at the frame side would have too look like with the mounts the way you have them. Also, in case you havent noticed, your panhard bar is mimicking your axle. As in, it needs moved up about a foot.
 
Yes, I forgot to mention I haven't messed with the pan hard bar yet. Been trying to figure out what numbers to input and how to get anti dive figured out.

I'm going to try and run the upper link on the drivers side, I figured that was the best.

My brain hurts. I hate math. Used to do it every day for twenty years.

Just start mocking it up on the truck. Then see what you have available for changing to get the math to work as close as you can. Then start building something all ready.
 
Oh I'm going to just wanted to mess with the calculator and get a understanding of what I'm going to be getting into.

Tomorrow I hope to get some work done.
