yup... I don't fab/build my K5 anymore, it decides what IT wants... it didn't start out that way! :doah: :haha:

Along the same vein, my dad asked me once, "you don't have time and money to do it right but you have time and money to do it twice?".

After riding with Wade at koh and breaking the pitman arm hydro assist is a must.

I also don't want to try and blend paint.

I didn't break the pitman arm. Drove it the rest of the day and onto the tow rig. It was just a little sloppy.

True, not only did you drive it the rest of the day, you also pulled out a stuck truck with a trailer. :haha:

Hydro assist is one of those do it right not again situations like above.

Lol Ok. Your right. Its just something that isn't needed to get it driveable and something that will take you a few days to do, that you could pretty well just as easily do after its driving. You don't have to go out and mimic wade before you get it on there, but maybe you could just get the truck done ASAP so you can start working out bugs. But I suppose a few extra days tied up in build time won't hurt at this point.

I think hydro is definitely something that could have waited more than that steering arm, where your trying to get proper lengths/angles/geometry down...

yes, assist is nice right away, but you could certainly add the tabs, cylinder, etc after it was running with no ill-effect... rig isn't required to be KOH capable to go have fun at the bash, but having proper steering geometry should be...

I know what you mean and It shouldn't take more then a few hours to figure out where to extend the ram out to and mount it.

It just scares me knowing how slow we were moving and what was the outcome and in order to fit my pitman arm I had to file the threads to accept the chevy sector shaft.

The geometry is first on the list, we just got side tracked on assist because it isn't needed to get going at first. I'm actually looking at arms right now.

I keep trying to imagine how the Malibu is going to tow the truck to BB.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Air bags and a hidden 5th wheel hitch in the trunk. :pimp:

Would it be a good idea to have the arm I already have milled to a flat angle or even say 5 degrees?

I know a guy with a milling machine that could do it.

Or I'm pretty good with a cut off wheel... :eek1: :doah::haha:

You only have to get the one arm. Leave the tie rod where it is. It'll be $100. Just order it up :waytogo:
